I feel a bit like Goldilocks. I wanted a camera bag that could do it all. A pack I could take on trips and that would hold my camera gear AND my books AND fit under the seat on the airplane. I also had to have a side pocket to access my camera. Lastly, I'm short, 5'2" so I need a pack that fits me.
I have a mirrorless Sony, a 28-300 mm lens, a 35 mm prime, a 50 mm prime, and a 28mm pancake. I also like to travel with a lens cleaning kit, and my Insta360 Luma Ultra video camera. Most of the other camera bags I tried (Peak Design, Shiomda, Brevite, Nomatic) fit this gear but left no room for my personal stuff. They also felt really heavy and became uncomfortable. Or in the case of the Shimoda, it was comfortable, but there were so many straps on the pack that it was hard to navigate and open the camera side pocket
I also wanted a pack I could carry at my destination so that I had my camera gear for the day (if I wanted) and space in my pack for my jacket, water bottle, and wallet. This pack performed! Packed with my gear, it can get heavy, but it was comfortable to wear for hours on end. I was also skeptical of the rolltop. But with a pocket for my wallet, Purell, sunglasses, charger, and the zippered access to the rolltop, I love it.
I also love that materials. I can wipe it down if it gets marked up, and when it rains there is some protection for my gear.
Lastly, my only bit of feedback is that the pack is big on me. I love it, but this is where I had to compromise. I…
